INDI SOUTHBANK AT BOYD VILLAGE ACHIEVES PRACTICAL COMPLETION
PDG is delighted to announce the practical completion of Indi Southbank at Boyd Village, one of Southbank’s most anticipated build to rent developments.
Delivered in partnership with investment manager Investa, owner Oxford Properties and the City of Melbourne, the development at 132 Kavanagh Street, Southbank includes 434 rental apartments ranging from studios to 3-bedroom residences. At least 40 apartments are designated affordable homes for key workers.
A new 900sqm council library and meeting rooms will be housed on the ground and first floors of the building with landscaped pathways connecting to the historic Boyd Community Hub. Practical completion for the community facilities is scheduled for the coming weeks.
Construction of the tower began in late 2022 during a period marked by post-covid price escalation and industry uncertainty. Despite these challenges, the project has been delivered on schedule and to budget.

Designed by DKO and built by Hamilton Marino, Indi Southbank integrates seamlessly with the Boyd Village precinct, with complementary internal colour schemes and materials used throughout the lobby, hallways, and reception. The external façade incorporates Hawthorn-style brickwork and red metal finishes, reflecting the heritage of the Boyd Village Hub and the industrial vernacular of the nearby Kings Way overpass.
Residents have access to an array of amenity across multiple levels, including co-working spaces and meeting rooms, gymnasium and sauna, and a large outdoor terrace with a pool, barbeque facilities and dog run on Level 7. Residents can entertain guests in the exclusive Level 42 cocktail lounge and private dining rooms which overlook the city and Port Phillip Bay.
Indi Southbank will now be handed over to Investa and interior designers, Twostyle to complete the furniture fit out and styling in final preparation for leasing.
Indi Southbank at Boyd Village is PDG’s second build to rent project in Melbourne and follows the highly successful Liv Munro, developed for Mirvac in 2022.
In September 2025, PDG announced a new partnership with AXA IM Alts for 105 apartments in West Melbourne, demonstrating the company’s expanding build to rent portfolio and contribution to the city’s innovative, quality, and sustainable rental housing for the long term.
