CSL headquaters build by PDG

CSL to Occupy Stage 2 of Elizabeth North

07 Aug 2019

CSL has signed with PDG to occupy the facilities that will be built as part of Elizabeth North’s second stage.

CSL, a world leader of biotechnology and biotherapy, will utilise Elizabeth North as a new global corporate headquarters – complete with leading-edge laboratories and incredible modern offices and spaces purpose-built for dynamic scientific applications.

Elizabeth North is set to be a destination for science, research and education. With three ultra-modern buildings covering a precinct that bridges the Parkville biomedical district with Melbourne’s CBD.

Stage 1 features contemporary architecture rising from a retained art deco heritage façade. It will be a new city campus for Melbourne University’s Trinity College.

Stage 2 comprises a 16-storey building that will accommodate collaboration between academic institutions and industry – highlighting CSL’s commitment to effective partnerships that result in solutions that create better health for people all over the world.

“CSL’s collaborations within the precinct span more than a hundred years.  We have opportunities all around the world and R&D in several countries, but we believe the density of biotech research activity in Parkville is as good or better than any other precinct.

As we continue to strengthen our long-term collaborations with strategic partners, we intend to grow these networks by further embedding key elements of our Australian operations into the nucleus of Melbourne’s medical research district.” – Paul Perreault, CSL Managing Director

CSL’s choice to make Elizabeth North its new home underscores the project’s vision – to support and advance Melbourne’s position as a centre of biomedical research, development and innovation.

“This dynamic precinct will be a foundation for organisations that stand as global exemplars of their industries – driving the growth of knowledge, development of technology and success of Australia’s brightest minds.”  – Vince Giuliano, PDG Managing Director

Tram access and proximity to upcoming Parkville Station ensure Elizabeth North is easily reached via public transport – while facilities for cyclists accommodate a wider spectrum of greener transit.

The involvement of leading organisations such as CSL ensure Elizabeth North will be a landmark development that supports Australia’s brightest minds and most noble aspirations.
