CSL headquarters development at Elizabeth North

PDG Appoints Probuild to Build CSL Headquarters at Elizabeth North

21 Nov 2019

PDG has appointed national tier-1 construction company Probuild to build the second stage of Elizabeth North, the future headquarters of global biotech company CSL Limited. Probuild is also PDG’s appointed builder on the first stage of the $750m mixed-use development, delivering facilities for Toyota and Melbourne University’s Trinity College. The 70,000sqm development comprises a combination of heritage-listed and contemporary buildings set to serve Melbourne’s education and biomedical precinct.

Probuild will commence construction on both stages early next year, first delivering stage 1 in 2021. The Stage 2 shell, housing CSL, is scheduled for completion in 2022.

CSL’s headquarters and laboratories will fully occupy the 35,000sqm of the project’s second stage, incorporating 1,000sqm of retail on the ground floor.

In the first stage, Trinity College will open their state-of-the-art vertical city campus on 10,000sqm, situated above Toyota’s new flagship Melbourne City Toyota, occupying 12,000sqm.

Managing Director of PDG Corporation Vince Giuliano says Elizabeth North will provide facilities to Melbourne’s growing and vital industries, in line with Melbourne City Council’s and state government’s strategic vision for the precinct.

“This dynamic precinct will be a new foundation for organisations that stand as global exemplars of their industries – driving the growth of knowledge, development of technology and success of Australia’s bright minds,” Mr Giuliano said.

“We are excited to continue this project with an accomplished builder. Probuild has delivered outstanding buildings in Melbourne and around Australia.” Mr Giuliano added.

Probuild’s Victorian Managing Director, Sam Delmonico, said he was also excited to commence work on another PDG project. “Probuild and PDG have already worked together successfully at the Melbourne high-rise Abode apartments and this will serve to further strengthen our relationship,” he said.

Sam Delmenico also noted that “after developing a strong partnership together, PDG have again entrusted Probuild as their preferred delivery partner. Together, we will deliver an outstanding development – this time in the commercial and mixed-use sector.”

PDG is a leading commercial property developer and has brought a range of residential, retail and mixed-use developments to life.
